Pen Ward, Keita Takahashi, and Tons of Other Awesome People Making Games for LA Game Space Kickstarter

Pen Ward (the creator of Adventure Time) has been working late into the night for the past week creating this adorable animation about LA Game Space, his love of video games, and how awesome QWOP is. Pen and Bennett Foddy (creator of QWOP) are teaming up to make a game for the LA Game Space Kickstarter!

And—just announced today—Keita Takahashi (creator of Katamari Damacy) is making a new game for the Kickstarter as well! Keita is one of my absolute favorite game makers of all time, and I am kind of freaking out that he has joined us to help raise the funds to make LA Game Space a reality.

Keita Takahashi is creating a new game for the LA Game Space Kickstarter

Daniel and I have been working on this for three years now, and it is humbling to see how many generous, talented people have thrown their support behind the Space. From our advisors, to the game developer community, to everyone spreading the word and donating, it is obvious that this is not a personal project, but something that we are all doing together. So, thank you!

Also, while the rewards that we are offering on the Kickstarter are pretty mind-blowing, this movement is about something more central to video games and their growth as a medium. David Surman and Ian Gouldstone of Pachinko Pictures created this short video to explain the real reason LA Game Space is so important. They’ve explained it in a way that I think will resonate expecially well with Attract Mode readers.
