… That's what Phil Fish called last week's indie game explosion, otherwise known as FORT90 X BABYCASTLES, and never before has a description been so dead–on accurate. At long last, video games have a place to truly get down and dirty, where things get real. Others have made similar claims, but gaming doesn't get anymore punk rock than this.
Last Thursday night's affair was absolutely mind–blowing for everyone involved, though I'm fairly certain it was our guest of honor who, after all was said done, was the most satisfied. During his speech, Phil noted that he and the rest of Kokoromi had hopes that their Gamma shows (which showcases non–commercial and experimental gameplay) up in the great white north would inspires others to follow suit, elsewhere.

Attract Mode's east coast warrior, Matt Hawkins, is curating a fine selection of games next month at Babycastles, NYC's best indie game arcade. Most of the games will be there all month, but the opening party is the must-attend if you live anywhere near New York. It's also the only night you can check out Super Hypercube due to all the specialized hardware involved. Check out the details below. Hmmm, I wonder how cheap the flights are from LA to NYC right now…
