I’m Guest Blogging for Tiny Cartridge

Tiny Cartridge

I've been having a great time guest blogging for Tiny Cartridge the past two weeks. Eric went on vacation and asked Matt Hawkins, Bruno de Figueiredo and me to fill in a few posts while he's enjoying the hot Asian sun.

Here's a list of my contributions so far:

Warp Zone Socks

Warp Zone Socks

The Warp Zone socks are part of an amazing collection by Ashi Dashi. I think they've earned the title of "Best Videogame Apparel Ever". Although, I'm not sure if a guy could pull them off. What do you think? For girls only?

An Open Letter to Arun Dhir

Mega Man 2 with Bosses

Mr. Arun Dhir:

Thank you for your stylish pixel drawings. They bring back memories of playing videogames in a simpler time. The characters are completely adorable, yet their unassuming expressions reassure me that they are indeed cool, if only because they are unaware of that fact.

Please don't stop here! There are too many games, both classic and recent, that are in need of equal treatment. Where is Viewtiful Joe posing in his ridiculous way, or Naija munching on a sea loaf? What of the absence of that cruel taskmaster, Tom Nook? Please realize that you have a duty to uphold to yourself and to these characters.

I look forward to seeing your future work.

Sincerely,

Adam Robezzoli

The Return of Masao

Mega Man 1up by Masao

Some of you might remember seeing Masao’s odd take on the Super Mario Bros. back in 2005. What’s he been up to since then? From the looks of his Pixiv account, he’s been continuing his creepy interesting interpretations of classic videogames. Alright!

My favorite is definitely the disembodied Mega Man head 1up. It has never looked so frightening.
