In conjunction with Meat Bun Apparel, Angry Bananas, and Giant Robot, we are proud to host Game Night 11, an event that takes place at GR2 about every two months. This episode of Game Night will feature two indie games. From the creators themselves, here’s a capsule description!

This episode of Game Night will feature Spelunky, BaraBariBall, and Castle in the Darkness, as well as an appearance by Spelunky creator Derek Yu. We’ll also have his vinyl Spelunky figures!

Spelunky is a platformer with lots of monsters, items, traps, and secrets. Dying in Spelunky can be quick and painful. But each time you restart, you’ll play a new, randomly-generated set of levels! It will feel fresh and exciting, and you’ll have to think on your feet. (http://spelunkyworld.com/)

Noah Sasso’s BaraBariBall is a competitive sports game for two or four players. Score by dunking the ball in the water on the opposing team’s side, lose a point for falling into the water. (http://barabariball.com/)

Castle in the Darkness is a retro-styled exploration platformer in development by Matt Kap. It is inspired by games like Castlevania, Megaman, Kirby, Metroid, Zelda, I Wanna Be The Guy, Ys and a lot more! (http://castleinthedarkness.mattkap.net/)

Giant Robot was born as a Los Angeles-based publication about Asian, Asian-American, and new hybrid culture in 1994, but has evolved into a full-service pop culture provider with shops and galleries in Los Angeles.

Game Night 12 will take place on Saturday, December 15th 2012, 6:30 – 10:00 p.m.
