What Are the Objectives of Save the Refugees Quest?

In the Save the Refugees quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, there are several objectives that need to be completed. Wyll wants to defeat the goblin leaders to give the Tieflings a chance once they’re back on the road. Kagha, leader of the Druids, wants to speak with us and make the Tieflings leave, as she fears the grove cannot support both of them and itself. Completing these goals will progress the story forward and lead to new adventures.

How Can the Quest Be Unlocked?

To unlock the “Save the Refugees” quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, players must enter the Blighted Village in the northwestern part of the starting area. Once there, they’ll come across a group of refugees being attacked by goblins. Players can choose to help the refugees fend off the goblins, which will lead to the start of the quest.

Alternatively, if players ignore the refugees and continue exploring the village, they may miss the opportunity to start this quest. Once the quest is unlocked, players will need to escort the refugees to safety, fighting off enemies and solving puzzles along the way.

Save the Refugees Quest Walkthrough

“Save the Refugees” is a quest in Baldur’s Gate 3 that requires the player to help the Tiefling refugees in Druid’s Grove. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough instruction on how players can complete this quest:

  1. Speak with the druid Kagha in the Druid’s Grove and learn that she plans to close the grove and expel all the Tiefling refugees.
  2. Speak with Zevlor, a Tiefling refugee, and take on the task to kill Kagha. Alternatively, open Kagha’s chest (white chest, not stealing) and find a letter to Kagha, which adds a marker to your map, in the southeast corner of the Putrid Bog.
  3. Follow the marker to the marked location (a group of level 4 beasts) and defeat them. Walk around to find a crevice with another message from Olodon to Khaga, which makes clear that Khaga wants to turn the Grove over to Shadow Druids.
  4. Return to the Grove and confront Kagha (Persuasion checks 15 and 10, or religion checks). Depending on your rolls, you can fight against Kagha, Olodon, and a few side druids, or make Kagha see her mistake and join you and Rath against Olodon and 3 druids.
  5. If you saved the Goblin Sazza at the makeshift prison, speak with her priestess and help her open the gate of Druid Grove and slaughter all the refugees.
  6. To infiltrate the Goblin camp, use the passage on the right of the front gate (use jump to reach there) or persuade the goblin garrison using the Deception (15)/ Nature (10) / Intimidation (15) skills and obey the goblin’s commands.
  7. Enter the Shattered Sanctum peacefully by using the psionic power or passing the Deception (15) check.
  8. Free Halsin from the Worg Pen by defeating the goblins there.
  9. Kill all the goblin leaders (Dror Ragzlin, Priestess Gut, and the drow Minthara) or side with them and help them raid the Druid Grove.
  10. To defeat the goblins at camp, use the high grounds to ambush them or add poison to the Booze Tub, but be careful not to get caught.
  11. If you side with the Goblins, talk to Minthara and reveal the location of Druid Grove to her and open the gate for the raiders. You can also steal the Druid artifact to make the Tieflings and Druids fight each other.
  12. After you killed all the goblin leaders, return to the Druid’s Grove and claim your reward. Ruth will give you a Rune of the Wolf.
  13. Use the Rune of the Wolf to open the secret room in the enclave library.
  14. Place the Rune of the Wolf and activate all the runes to open the entrance to Hidden Vault.
  15. In Hidden Vault, find Sorrow (Rare 2-handed Melee Weapon), Robe of Summer (Rare Clothing), and Wyvern Poison (Rare potion, coat weapon).
  16. Rest at camp, join the celebration if you helped the Tieflings, and talk to Halsin the next day to complete the quest.
