When Did League of Legends Mobile Come Out?

League of Legends has commanded respect in the gaming industry for over a decade with numerous worldwide fanbases. The game remained a PC game for years until the developer announced the release of a mobile version of the game. The announcement took the industry by storm, with numerous veteran and new players waiting to venture and discover what the game’s mobile version offers.

However, the main question remains what the League of Legends mobile version release date is. Luckily, we have all this and more information. Read on to find out the League of Legends release date, what happened to League of Legends mobile, and more.

About League of Legends Wild Rift

League of Legends Wild Rift is the smartphone version of the widely acclaimed PC video game League of Legends. The League of Legends parent developer, Riot Games, developed the game. The original game version was released in 2009 and immediately gained worldwide approval. Apart from the fantastic gameplay, the introduction of the annual League of Legends World Championship increased the international fanbase.

The game is a MOBA where players in two teams of 5 battle against each other. Each of the players controls a character called Champion. The Champion starts as a weak character and gradually increases strength and abilities in the game’s progression. Each Champion has unique skills. The League of Legends multiplayer option creates a battle against other players or AI units. Your goal is to destroy the other team’s Nexus.

What is the Difference Between League of Legends and League of Legends Wild Rift?

As noted, League of Legends Wild Rift is a mobile version of League of Legends. However, the game features a few adaptations to become compatible with mobile. The game’s objective remains the same, destroying the opponent’s Nexus team base. Therefore, the veteran League of Legends players have something to relate to in the gameplay.

However, the map size is significantly reduced, and unlike the PC version, which lasts approximately 45 minutes, the mobile version takes about 15 minutes. Other changed features include reduced respawning time and regeneration time. There’s an acceleration to the gold gain, and the Nexus turrets and inhibitors are removed. However, unlike the original version, the Nexus can attack opponents.

In League of Legends Wild Rift, players access significant buffs on completing each round by defeating Elder Elemental Drake. They aren’t available in the League of Legends PC version. Another notable difference is the Champion’s features. Each character’s passive skills are tweaked and attached to separate screen buttons with an addition of active abilities. The map’s orientation is also changed. In the PC version, players move from left-right, while in In League of Legends Wild Rift, players move from top-bottom.
