Hey there, fellow adventurers! Are you stuck in your quest to remove the pesky parasite from your head in Baldur’s Gate 3? Fear not, for we have got you covered! In this guide, we will show you how to find the elusive druid Halsin, who holds the key to your freedom. So grab your weapons, put on your armor, and let’s dive into the Goblin Camp to rescue our furry friend and finally break free from this mind-controlling menace!
To reach the Goblin Camp and find the missing Druid Halsin, players will need to make their way west from Druid Grove. The map will show a gold marker indicating the location of the camp. On the way, players will come across a dead boar triggering a conversation with the group about its mysterious death. After crossing a bridge, players will reach the Blighted Village where a successful perception check will reveal a goblin ambush up ahead. Players can try to persuade the goblins using the parasite or perform different rolls to sway them from attacking. Alternatively, they can choose to fight the goblins outright.
A waypoint and another group of goblins can be found further west into the Blighted Town, where a gnome is being tortured by them by spinning them around a windmill. The gnome can be saved via a variety of ways, and once the goblins have been dealt with, the gnome can be saved by interacting with a lever inside the windmill building. A brake lever near the base can be used to stop the windmill.
Although the Blighted Town is filled with goblins, it is certainly not a Goblin Camp. After exploring the Blighted Village, the western side can be left, and continuing onward until a wooden bridge is reached leads directly into Goblin Camp territory where Sentinel Olak must be talked to out front. Any attempts to sneak around them are met with a scout warning.
Before entering the Goblin Camp further, Sentinel Olak will threaten the player and ask for their reason for being there. This presents another opportunity to use the parasite or one of many other ability checks/rolls to persuade the goblin. If Olak is successfully convinced, he will tell the player to rub poop on their face. The player can either start a fight with the goblins or do it and get through peacefully. If the peaceful method is chosen, Olak can be asked about Halsin, and he will reveal that Halsin is likely down in the pits.
Before continuing further into the Goblin Camp, if the player has some money or items to spare, it is a good opportunity to trade. Food can be bought from Olak by clicking the trade button at the bottom left corner while talking to him. Otherwise, the player can continue past Olak and head north deeper into the camp.
To save Volo, players will need to locate him in the southeastern room of the Shattered Sanctum. Once they have found him, they will need to speak with the goblin guarding his cell and use either persuasion or deception to convince the goblin to release Volo. Alternatively, players can choose to fight the goblin to free Volo. Once Volo is freed, players can choose to let him go or bring him back to their camp. Bringing Volo back to camp provides another way to complete the quest to Remove the Parasite.
To find Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3, players will need to make their way to the Worg Pens, which can be accessed through the Ornate Door located on the northeastern side of the Shattered Sanctum. Once there, players will witness goblins throwing rocks at a bear. They can either join in on the rock-throwing or tell the goblins to stop. After the battle, the bear will be replaced by Halsin, who will offer to help players in his bear form. However, he warns that he won’t be able to sneak around and will attack goblins on sight, potentially sabotaging players’ plans. Halsin will need players’ help to take down three goblin leaders in the area before he’ll assist them in removing the parasite. The goblin leaders are, Drog Ragzlin the Goblin King, Minthara the Drow Commander, and Priestess Gut.
Additionally, there’s a trader named Roah Moonglow in the area who players can purchase better gear and potions from.
To beat Minthara, it’s important to split up your party and focus on taking down the sword spiders first. These enemies can deal a lot of damage quickly, so eliminating them early on will make the rest of the fight much easier. Keep Shadowheart away from the ledge to ensure she can revive any fallen party members. Ranged attacks like Witch Bolt and Eldritch Blast can also be effective, as they allow your wizards to attack from a safe distance. Remember to be patient and don’t rush the fight. With some careful planning and execution, you can defeat Minthara and progress through the quest.
After defeating all three goblin leaders, the next step in the questline is to find out who is behind the parasites. Halsin reveals that this person must be at the Moonrise Towers and suggests three different paths to get there. However, at this time, only the Underdark path is available in the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3. Therefore, the next quest players would take is to follow the Removing the Parasite quest walkthrough to reach the Moonrise Towers via the Underdark. Upon reaching the Moonrise Towers, players will continue their journey to rid themselves of the parasite.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a challenging game that requires strategy, patience, and a willingness to explore. To find Halsin, players will need to make their way to the goblin camp and navigate through a series of obstacles and enemies. Once inside the Shattered Sanctum, players will need to locate Volo and deceive a goblin to let him go, which will provide an option for Volo to join your camp and help with removing the parasite. Finding Halsin is essential to advancing the game’s plot and completing the “Removing the Parasite” quest. To do so, players will need to search the southern side of the area and be prepared for potential confrontations with goblin leaders.
