Keep reading, and let’s find out together!
In the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3, players are unable to interact with the game’s world map, meaning they cannot choose where they want to travel. Instead, they can only explore the locations that are available within the game’s world atlas maps. There are currently seven locations available in the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3.
These locations are Nautilod, Overgrown Ruins / Roadside Cliffs, Druid Grove / Silvanus Grove, The Risen Road / Waukeen’s Rest, Blighted Village, Goblin Camp, and Riverside Teahouse. Each of these locations presents its own unique challenges and opportunities for players to explore.
Nautilod is a vast, sprawling network of underwater caverns and tunnels. It is home to the Nautiloid, a massive ancient vessel that serves as the main setting for the game’s opening act. Players will explore the Nautiloid and its surrounding areas as they seek to uncover the mysteries of this strange and otherworldly ship.
The Overgrown Ruins / Roadside Cliffs are a pair of locations that offer a mix of natural beauty and ancient ruins. Players will need to navigate treacherous cliffs and dense forests as they explore these locations, uncovering lost artifacts and battling dangerous creatures along the way.
The Druid Grove / Silvanus Grove is a peaceful and idyllic location that serves as a sanctuary for the druidic followers of the nature god Silvanus. Players will need to earn the trust of these druids if they hope to gain access to the grove’s secrets and treasures.
The Risen Road / Waukeen’s Rest is a dangerous and inhospitable region that is home to a variety of deadly creatures and hostile factions. Players will need to use all their skills and resources to survive in this harsh and unforgiving environment.
The Blighted Village is a desolate and haunted location that is plagued by dark magic and ancient curses. Players will need to uncover the secrets of this forsaken village and confront the evil that lurks within its walls.
The Goblin Camp is a bustling and chaotic location that is home to a variety of goblin tribes and other nefarious characters. Players will need to navigate the camp’s labyrinthine streets and alleyways, avoiding traps and ambushes as they go.
Finally, the Riverside Teahouse is a tranquil and serene location that offers respite from the dangers and chaos of the game’s other locations. Players can relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this quaint little teahouse, recharging their batteries and preparing for their next adventure.
Are you ready to explore the Nautiloid flying ship in Baldur’s Gate 3? This is where the entire prologue of the campaign takes place. Here’s what you can expect to find on this map:
Make sure to explore the entire Nautiloid map during the prologue to gain more experience points and find more loot. And don’t worry, even though the Nautiloid crashes after the prologue, you’ll still have the opportunity to examine fragments of the shipwreck. So, get ready for some turn-based battles and interactive gameplay aboard the Nautiloid!
The Overgrown Ruins / Roadside Cliffs is a Baldur’s Gate 3 game region that you can explore after completing the Nautiloid catastrophe. The area is full of important locations, including the Fishermen and Mind Flyer encounter, the entrance to the chapel, and the Dank Crypt dungeon.
In the Dank Crypt, you can find the Engraved Key and The Watcher’s Guide weapon. Another bonus location is the Bedchamber, where you can recruit Shadowheart, Astarion, and Gale. In this region, it is important to add new characters to your party and use their skills to explore the world and win battles.
In the Druid Grove / Silvanus Grove region of Baldur’s Gate 3 map, players can find important locations such as the Emerald Grove, where they can meet Archdruid Kagh and Nettie, among others. There is also the Secluded Chamber where they can find Zevlor for the Save the Refugees quest.
Additionally, there is the Tiefling Hideout with Mol who gives the Steal the Sacred Idol quest. Players should also watch out for the goblins at the entrance to the Druid Grove and the monsters in the Underground Passage. They can also visit traders like Arron, Dammon, and Aunt Ethel to purchase useful items and ingredients. But players should be careful not to upset the people of the Grove and turn them against them, as this may lead to unnecessary battles and deaths of NPCs.
In the Risen Road and Waukeen’s Rest region of Baldur’s Gate 3, players can find important locations, secrets, and stronger monsters. There is a damaged bridge that leads to the northern part of the map, but it’s partially destroyed. The area also has a cave with gnolls surrounding two survivors defending themselves, and players can choose to help them or let the gnolls kill them. The burning Waukeen’s Rest is connected to the quest to Find and Rescue the Grand Duke, and players can search both floors of the burning Rest and adjacent buildings.
However, the fire gradually spreads, and players can put it out with magic or seek alternative paths. Players should also be wary of encountering the Githyanki patrol and equipping their mages with spells or potions to generate water or increase resistance to fire before exploring the burning buildings. There are also important NPCs like Karlach, who players can convince not to fight, and Cyrel, who sells thief tools and potions. However, players should avoid exploring this area if their team members have not advanced to at least experience Level 4.
Welcome to Blighted Village, a location in Baldur’s Gate 3 filled with danger and adventure. Here, players can find an owlbear nest, a goblin-occupied village, and the Whispering Depths dungeon. In the village, players can choose to fight or negotiate with the goblins, help Scratch the Dog, and rescue a gnome from the windmill. However, beware of the ogres in the south building, as they pose a significant threat.
The Whispering Depths dungeon is full of cobwebs and dangerous creatures, including the Phase Spider Matriarch. It’s essential to loot corpses and containers to find valuable items like Dark Amethyst, research notes, and magical scrolls. The cellar of the necromancer’s house is also worth exploring, as it contains The Necromancy of Thay book and other treasures. We recommend approaching the goblins guarding the entrance peacefully to avoid unnecessary combat.
In Goblin Camp, you’ll find goblins guarding the entrance to the camp and plenty of traps to avoid. It’s recommended to have a peaceful encounter with the goblins to explore the area safely. If you’re allowed into the Goblin Camp, you can freely explore the entire area on the surface, meet the goblin merchant, Grat, and trade with him.
The area also holds important locations such as heavy oak doors leading to the Shattered Sanctum, a chest hidden behind a waterfall, and a fallen tree passage to sneak into the Goblin Camp from the forest side. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for interactive containers with loot, and avoid the mine traps on the southern road leading from the fallen tree.
Get ready to explore the Riverside Teahouse Region in Baldur’s Gate 3! On this map, you’ll find Aunt Ethel’s Teahouse, where you can get involved in the quest to Save Mayrina and rid Ethel of her parasitic possession. But watch out for spiked traps in the water that can cause bleeding status for several rounds! And don’t forget to talk to the frog to learn more about Aunt Ethel and earn a reward. So, put on your exploring shoes and be cautious while you navigate through this region.
Thanks for reading this guide to the various regions and important locations in Baldur’s Gate 3. While the game is currently in Early Access, players can explore several key areas, including the Sunlit Wetlands, the Druid Grove, the Goblin Camp, and more. And with the game set to be an open-world experience, there’s no doubt that players can look forward to even more exciting locations to discover and explore in the future. Whether you’re a fan of the classic Baldur’s Gate franchise or just looking for a new adventure in a rich and immersive world, Baldur’s Gate 3 is definitely worth checking out.
