Getting to The Rold Route in Elden Ring

The Rold Route opens up after a player reaches a certain level. First, you’ll have to go to Leyndell, the Capital City. If you’ve been playing the game for a while, you’ll have an easier time getting to the Capital City. If not, Leyndell, Royal Capital, is located on the northeastern side of the Altus Plateau.

Once you get to the capital’s entrance, there is a Draconic tree sentinel that you’ll have to kill to enter. Head over to the Capital Rampart side of grace, where you’ll take the lift, run along the corridor, and take the deep chasm to get to East Capital Rampart.

Exit the room to view Leyndell and its iconic dragon statue comprehensively. You will come across some Oracle Envoy that you’ll have to pass through. Beware of their horn-like weapons that cause bubble damage.

After successfully passing through these white-looking creatures, you’ll encounter a statue on the ground guarding a door. Avoid any encounters by jumping to your right into a balcony that takes you to a golden rooftop.

Maintain a northwest pattern and jump on the golden roof till you get to the chapel. Drop down, then head southwest. This is the point where a giant tree falls from the sky. Don’t mind the tree and walk down the open gates to get to the Grace Site.

You’ll come across Morgott, The Omen King, as you explore the lands. You’ll have to take down this boss to open a double-doors door at a different location.

After killing Morgott, go back to Avenue Balcony at the Site, and take the stairways towards the top. Use the path till you reach the unlocked double doors. You’ll also find an archer equipped with a long bow at the Avenue Balcony that you’ll have to defeat.

Keep following the path by proceeding straight and climbing up the curving staircase. There is another path down that you’ll take, then turn left to walk into a doorway with hooded statutes on both sides.

You’ll find a lever; pull this lever and take the elevator and head upwards, and arrive at the West Capital Rampart site of grace.

It is best to enable your summoning pool because there is a boss ahead you’ll have to defeat. Also, collect the golden seed guarded by the Oracle Envoy and use it to take down the giant Gargoyle. You’ll see a branch coming out of the ground that you’ll climb to a balcony where you’ll find boss Godfrey, First Elden Lord, and you have to defeat him to proceed.  

At this point you just need to get reach Rold Route. Follow the sculpture borders stairway and head up until you reach a huge tower. There is a different lift at the center, which you’ll have to activate by footing on a middle situated button.

Get off this elevator by taking the door on the right, you’ll enter the Forbidden Lands. Use your map to identify the road leading east as it gradually turns towards north.

You’ll have to take down Black Blade Kindred before going to the Rold Route. This path takes you one towards Giants Mountaintops. However, Suppose, you have a Haligtree Medallion, it will lead the player to the Consecrated Snowfield.

Get Your Armor Ready

For instance, as you take on Godfrey, you’ll notice that he follows a specific fighting pattern that you should study and use against him.
