In Diablo 4, Paragon Boards are a new type of endgame progression system designed to offer players even more opportunities to customize their character and further their gameplay experience. These boards are essentially large grids or charts that are filled with colored squares, each of which represents a unique bonus or stat boost that can be unlocked using Paragon Points.
The Paragon Boards are designed to offer a new layer of complexity, allowing players to continue to develop their character long after they have reached the game’s maximum level. By unlocking and customizing different squares on the board, players can create a truly unique and powerful character that stands out from the rest.
To obtain Paragon Points in Diablo 4, you need to earn Paragon Levels. This system was first introduced in Diablo 3, and it is making a comeback in the new game.
In Diablo 4, you will get four Paragon Points for every Paragon Level you earn, and there are a total of 50 levels. This means that the maximum number of Paragon Points you can get is 200. However, since Paragon Boards have numerous squares that require points to unlock, you’ll quickly realize that even 200 points won’t be enough to unlock everything.
In Diablo 4, the Paragon System is capped at level 100, unlike the infinite levels in Diablo 3. According to Joe Shely, the game director, Blizzard wants the system to feel more hard-earned, and they believe this approach is an improvement over Diablo 3. This means that players will have to work hard to reach the highest level and earn their Paragon Points. The game designers have learned from previous games and have made changes to improve the overall experience for the players.
To unlock the Paragon Board in Diablo 4, you must first reach your first Paragon Level, which occurs after you’ve leveled up your character to level 50. Once you reach level 50, you’ll stop gaining normal levels and start earning Paragon Levels instead. In total, your character’s maximum level will be 100, with 50 standard levels and 50 Paragon Levels. So, keep leveling up your character until you reach that first Paragon Level to unlock the Paragon Board and start earning Paragon Points.

Paragon Board in Diablo 4 consists of different tiles that players can unlock using their Paragon Points. These tiles include Normal Tiles, Magic Tiles, Rare Tiles, Legendary Tiles, Gates, and Glyph Sockets. Each tile offers unique bonuses and enhancements that can boost a player’s character stats and skills. In the next sections, we will take a closer look at each type of tile and their respective benefits.
Normal Tiles in Diablo 4’s Paragon Board offer minor stat increases, such as a +5 bonus to Strength or Agility. While they may not be the most exciting, unlocking some Normal Tiles can lead to unlocking Legendary ones or increasing the effectiveness of your Glyph.
Magic Tiles provide better bonuses, like +10% Fire Resistance, and are usually found surrounding Rare or Legendary Tiles. It’s worth investing Paragon Points into these tiles as they offer more significant bonuses than Normal Tiles.
Rare Tiles in Diablo 4 give valuable bonuses, such as increasing the amount of Fury you get for killing enemies or providing additional bonuses if your character meets certain stat requirements.
Legendary Tiles, on the other hand, provide the most significant bonuses and offer new passive abilities. These tiles are quite rare but grant substantial benefits like increasing Barbarian’s damage by 30% if Fury is above 50%. It’s important to spend your Paragon Points wisely to unlock these tiles and maximize your character’s potential.
Gates in Diablo 4 Paragon Board are special tiles located on each side of the board. Unlocking one of them allows you to connect another Paragon Board to it, giving you access to even more bonuses. It is recommended to connect to as many boards as possible, as the most valuable tiles can only be found on a single instance of each board. Additionally, you can rotate your boards in all directions to choose the most effective angle for your reward-laden path.
Glyph Sockets are a key feature of the Paragon Boards in Diablo 4. These sockets allow players to place Glyphs, which are special runes that can be found in dangerous places like Nightmare Dungeons. When a Glyph is placed in a socket, it consumes the Glyph and grants the player a special bonus. Some Glyphs, such as the Magic Glyph, increase the bonuses of surrounding tiles, while others provide additional passive perks, like bonus damage for each Agility point gained from surrounding tiles.
Glyphs can be upgraded by completing certain dungeons, increasing their radius and the number of tiles neighboring the socketed Glyph that the player can benefit from. Glyphs follow the same quality tiers as Paragon Board tiles, ranging from Common to Legendary. Players can accumulate multiple Glyphs of a certain type and bank them for use on future attached boards. Overall, Glyph Sockets add another layer of customization and strategy to the Paragon Board system, allowing players to fine-tune their character’s abilities and maximize their potential.
Paragon Boards will be an exciting new feature in Diablo 4 that will provide players with a new way to progress their characters beyond the traditional leveling system. With Normal, Magic, Rare, and Legendary tiles, players can unlock various bonuses and passive abilities, and the Glyph Sockets add an additional layer of customization to the system. Gates allow players to connect multiple boards, increasing the number of rewards they can earn. Keep an eye out for more updates on this exciting new feature as Diablo 4’s release date draws nearer.
