How Many Acts Will Baldur’s Gate 3 Feature?

Hey, gamers! According to Larian Studios, it’s been announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 will have at least three acts. However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t necessarily mean that the game will have three chapters, as the same was said about Divinity: Original Sin 2. Additionally, Swen Vincke, the founder of Larian Studios, has stated that Act 2 will be significantly larger than the other two acts in the game.

What Acts Will Baldur’s Gate 3 Feature?

Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature at least three acts, with Act 2 being the longest one and having the biggest map. The game will have many locations to discover, including Baldur’s Gate City. Only Act 1 is planned for early access, so players will have to wait for the full version to play Acts 2 and 3. The later acts will likely feature many different characters, monsters, and perhaps even gods. Baldur’s Gate City is one of the most anticipated locations, and it is hoped that it will be huge and fully explorable.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Act 1 Details

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the first act sets up the story for the rest of the game. The player character is captured by mind flayers on a nautiloid ship and has a tadpole inserted into their eye. Together with a Githyanki warrior named Lae’zel, the player character fights their way to the helm of the ship, allowing it to escape the Hells and crash down in Faerun.

The first act is all about finding a way to remove the mind-flayer tadpoles. Players will also have the opportunity to try to save a woman who is trapped inside a Mind Flayer pod, which could lead to both valuable rewards and significant consequences depending on the player’s choices. The player character spends the first couple of days gathering companions and helping tiefling refugees under siege by goblins. They discover that the goblins all worship an entity called the Absolute, which is a construct of the mind flayers. The player character must then either find Halsin, a powerful healer and druid who has been captured by the goblins, or turn on the grove and aid the goblins, seeking the aid of their priestess instead and embracing their role as a True Soul. At the end of the campaign, the player character must sail in a duergar raft towards Moonrise Towers, seeking answers to the mystery of the mind-flayer tadpoles.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 2: What Do We Know?

Larian Studios have already confirmed that Act 2 won’t be released until the full game is available. Although there were hopes that the recent addition of Grymforge would signal the arrival of Act 2, this is not the case. The full release of the game is still planned for later in 2023, and as for Act 3, we don’t have any information about it yet. Act 2, which takes place in the titular location, is expected to be the largest part of the game, featuring the main story’s climax and adding 20-30 hours of gameplay. However, we’ll have to wait until the full release of the game to experience it. Until then, you can try out other D&D-themed RPGs like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

How Long Would It Take To Beat Baldur’s Gate 3?

Well, it’s safe to assume that the full game will take roughly 100 hours for a single playthrough, provided you complete some side quests and take a full part in character and party progression. However, if you’re planning to play the early access build, it will reportedly take 20-25 hours to beat. But with plenty of content to consume, different classes and races, and online multiplayer for up to four players, Baldur’s Gate 3 promises to offer huge replayability.

What Is Baldur’s Gate 3 Story?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is set in the current era of the Forgotten Realms, where mind flayers have found a way to travel between worlds and invade them. The player-character and their companions are all infected with a parasitic tadpole that should turn them into mind flayers, but for some reason, the process isn’t working as it normally does. The story follows the quest to remove the tadpoles and discover more about them. The mind flayers are ancient and terrifying beings with powerful psionic abilities that can control other sentient beings and feed on their brains. The player-character and their companions must fight against them and their enemies, including the githyanki, who feature prominently in the game. The city of Baldur’s Gate will also play a role in the story, though only relevant sections will be available to the player. The early access version of the game doesn’t reach the city, but it is seen from a distance during a dream sequence.
